Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)The Pulse of Vietnam

May 30, 2025
minute read

Once known as Saigon, this city doesn’t sleep. It pulses with ambition and creativity. Motorbikes swarm like schools of fish, cafés buzz with conversation, and remnants of French colonialism linger between steel skyscrapers.

Suggested Time: 3–4 days
Best For: History, food, dynamic city life

But Ho Chi Minh City is more than noise. It’s where Vietnam remembers and reinvents itself every day.

Things to Do in Ho CHi Minh:

  • Visit the War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace

  • Explore Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Central Post Office

  • Take in the street food scene — don’t miss a Bánh Mì or bowl of Phở

  • Find a rooftop bar and watch the city swirl below

What to Wear: City-smart casual. Be comfortable but tidy — this is a place where locals dress well.

Be Mindful Of: Traffic! Always look both ways — twice. And remember, not all history is easy to hear; some museum visits may be emotionally intense.

Conscious Travel Note: Learn a few Vietnamese phrases and engage with vendors and hosts with curiosity and respect. Tip generously where appropriate.
