minute read

Starting the morning of right is something we all know to be beneficial, whether it's the right attitude or the right breakfast, I like to think both can be found in an Acai & Blueberry smoothie.

What you’ll need:

  • Blender / NutriBullet
  • Blueberries / frozen are my preference
  • Acai
  • Protein powder / Raw Vanilla and cinnamon is my preference
  • Filtered Water
  • Green powder (Vitalgreens)
  • 1 banana
Instructions:
  • Break the banana up into the bottom of the blender
  • Cover with a generous helping of blueberries
  • Add ½ an Acai block (or equivalent powder)
  • Cover with water (almost up to the line)
  • Add in a scoop of protein powder
  • Add a teaspoon of Green powder
  • Blend

Antioxidant Acai

These little super berries are said to have higher antioxidant properties than our favourite blueberries, so having them together really kickstarts the day right. The Acai berry is rich in healthy fats, fibre and magnesium. Acai is great for gut health, is an anti-inflammatory and is said to be repairing for the body. Antioxidants in general are known to assist the body in reducing stress, balancing blood pressure and protecting and repairing cells from damage.

Protein powder

Not all protein powders are equal, choose one that matches your goals and diet.
I use a Vegan protein made mostly of root vegetables, the benefits are its gluten and dairy-free, rich in flavour and sugar-free.
